Fender '75 Jazz, natural gloss, crafted in Japan 1999-02. There's Jazz Basses, and there's extra Jazzbasstastic-Jazz-Basses, and this is the latter. The combo of some 70s-placed pickups and an ash body add brightness, focus and midrange snarl to the mix, so this has a fat, aggressive voice with plenty of poke and punch. It's unusual to get a rosewood board on this model in this finish; usually it's either natural+maple or painted+rosewood, but I personally feel the rosewood and natural ash make for a spiffy combo, especially with the cool block inlays. This is a very reliable and enjoyable working player's bass. 'By the time you hear the next 'pop', the funk shall be within you'.
