Fender Jaguar, rebel yellow, made in Japan 1997-00. Well, safe to say, I've never seen a Jag in this finish before. Rebel yellow is a bit of a cult favourite on Fender Japan guitars, so while it was basically never a catalog colour on most models, you occasionally see a Strat or Tele pop up in this finish, but a Jag... good luck finding another one. The finish has yellowed (yep) to an awesome sunny-side-up hue; it's absolutely a traffic stopping, gaudy and glorious creature. The playing side is all there too. The neck is a slim, round profile with lovely concentric oval grain patterns on the back; it's arrow-straight and super friendly in the hands. The short scale, perfectly weighted offset body and Jag trem combine for a slinky, lively playing experience... you're having fun from the outset. The classic Jag-jangle offers a nice balance of snappy attack and rounded, punchy bass; it's perfect with a healthy dose of effects. Sometimes I see a guitar and just know I have to get it into my life; and see... you feel it too on this one, right?
