Fender Japan Jaguar JG66-85 Sunburst 1999-02
Fender Jag, sunburst, crafted in Japan 1997-00. The Jag has always oozed cool; it's got a natural swagger unrivalled by almost all comers. This one sports the classic red-tort/three-tone-burst combo which is always a winner. Combined with some natural wear and some classy knurled knobs, it's a creamy creature. The neck is nice and round and medium-slim; it's easy to get along with, and combined with the perfectly balanced lightweight offset body and short scale, you're never fighting hard to play. The tone is all Jag: thick, thumpy warble on the rhythm circuit; snappy, snarly jangle on the lead circuit. There's a lot to like here, plus it's a sure fire bet to still be cool in another twenty years.

The neck is pretty clean and feels smooth; there's a couple of dimples on the back but nothing nasty. The back has a handful of scuffs and light scratches; the most notable are up from the neck plate and on the lower side of the middle. The sides are okay, just some dimples on the top horn and shoulder, a pair of minor chips on either side of the rear strap pin and some light scuffs and small dents around from the knobs and on the lower horn. The front is pretty good, just some dimples on shoulder and behind the bridge and some normal play wear on the guard and top horn. Overall: good condition (7/10)
Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. There's some minor fret wear only, they're in great shape; 8/10 for life left. All electrics tested and working properly. Wearing fresh 11/49s.
