Fender Jaguar, sunburst, crafted in Japan 2002-4. The sunburst Jag is a bit of an icon, it always looks so good. This one is blessed with a super dark rosewood board, a dark tort guard and a pleasing bit of grain on show under the yellow of the body, so it's really maxing out the style points. The combination of the perfectly weighted body, slim round neck and the short scale make for a certain ease of play; this really feels good in the hands. There's plenty of signature Jag-jangle on tap: you can dial a thumpy, brisk rhythm tone or a slicing, snappy lead sound easily. It'll do it's best work paired with a platter of gourmet effects.... you can arrange that, right?
