Fender Japan MG73/CO Mustang Competition Candy Apple Red 2008
Fender MG73/Co Mustang, Competition Candy Apple Red, made in Japan 2007-10. You've got to watch this one, it's equal parts cute and mean. Fender have a long tradition of automotive-inspired paint jobs, and this briefly-made model was a reissue of the original Competition Mustangs from the early 1970s. It looks awesome: the chrome hardware, cream highlight and red are a killer combo, and the pearloid guard and matching headstock tie it all up perfectly. At a nudge over 3kg with a slim neck and small body, this is a super comfy little couch riff machine, or handy if you're playing the long sets. The tone is classic Mustang stuff: abundant attack, growly lows, percussive midrange punch and a naturally short sustain. It's been ages since we had one of these, so nab it while it's on offer. Can confirm: goes fast.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has dimples on the end and minor scuffs on the front near the logos. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, minor rub wear on the back only. The back has a chip on the bottom edge, dimples in the elbow area and widespread minor scuffs all over. The sides have minor dimples all over. The front has minor dimples in the elbow area and some play wear on teh guard and horns.
Overall: very good condition (8/10)
Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Wearing fresh 11/49 Moonshiners strings.
Fret life: 8/10, minor wear only
