Fender Japan Precision Bass PB62-60 Sunburst 2007
Fender Precision, sunburst, crafted in Japan 2006-8. It's a classic, surely. This understated overachiever is based on the 1962 version of the Precision Bass, so you get some vintage-style appointments: spaghetti logo, slab rosewood fretboard, heel-end truss adjuster, three-ply tort guard, classic three-tone finish. The neck is a comfy rounded C shape, and at 3.9kg this is a very agreeable weight if you're playing live. The tone gets the job done with plenty to spare: rounded plump lows, growly mids and a pithy understated top end. It will sit in the mix perfectly in a whole bunch of different contexts, it's easy to get along with.
