Fender Japan Standard Jazz Bass, sunburst, made in Japan 1997-00. This is a great bass; super practical and elegant. These Japan Standard models were a trimmed down version of the '62 Jazz, but with the 90s era logos and a tasty satin finish neck. The neck is superb: arrow straight, slim and comfy, tasty dark streaky rosewood, perfectly played in and supremely smooth. These solid sunburst finishes are colloquially known as 'clownburst'; it's got a certain gaudy vintage charm and looks great with a few signs of natural wear. The tone is all J: snap, attack and growl all rounded out with a tight, warm low end. If you're after a daily player that'll punch above it's weight and deliver for a bunch of different gigs, this one is very Jood. Yes, good with a capital 'J'; i.e. Jood.
