Fender Japan Standard Jazz Bass JB-45J Vintage White 1999-02
Fender Japan Standard Jazz Bass, crafted in Japan 1999-02, vintage white. These J-standard models are brilliant instruments for really not many dollars. This isn't a strict '62 reissue, so although it lends a lot from that model, you get a slim, satin finished neck, the 90s-style decal usually a 1-ply guard. This one is sporting a tidy aftermarket red-tort guard, which adds a bit of 60s appeal to the mix. The lacquer has mellowed nicely to a sweet buttery cream colour, it's looking excellent. This has the quick, smooth feel and growly, articulate Jazz Bass tone; it really fills that space nicely. Simple, effective, attractive, bombastic.

Cosmetic condition notes: Minor finish wear. There's some dings behind and below the bridge and a few little scratches near the rear strap pin. There's some mottled fading on the contoured area of the front, as well as some play-scratches on the guard and some minor buckle rash on the back. The chrome parts have some normal pitting. Nothing dramatic. Overall: good condition (7/10).
Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good. Frets have minor wear, 7/10 for life left. The G-string peg is pretty bent, but it works fine. All electrics tested and working properly. Set up with fresh 45/105s. Sweet!
