Fender Japan Standard Strat, rebel yellow, crafted in Japan 1998. My oh my, that's quite yellow. I love this finish, it's equal parts optimistic and rude and always catches the eye. Rebel yellow popped up on a few limited Japan runs in the 90s, but it was basically never a catalog option, so they're pretty scarce. The Japan Standard model of Strat takes the slim, comfy C neck from the '62 reissue model, but adds a more shreddable 9.5" radius fretboard, satin finish neck and 90s style decals. The pickups are nothing fancy, but this will surprise and delight you with a very convincing take on the classic Strat tone. It's bright, open and jangly, but with a fat punchy attack and and a creamy midrange; simple but musical and enjoyable. This is a really great Strat, so if you've been waiting for a yellow fellow, you'd be wise to say hello hello to this marshmallow.
