(SOLD) Fender Japan Stratocaster ST57-58US Black 1998
Fender '57 Strat, black, crafted in Japan 1997-00. Simple and effective! This here is a lovely 1957 style Strat, so it's got a chunky neck with a maple board, a single ply guard, spaghetti decals, stamped saddles and the like. It's a nice lightweight example, which makes for a comfy player and also translates to plenty of natural resonance and unplugged volume. Plug it in, and it's all thick, snappy spank. The neck pickup is glassy and clear with a thick fullness, while the bridge pickup is equal parts creamy and angular... it's really good. The black finish has a few knocks to keep it honest, and paired with the golden glow of the board, it looks awesome. Plenty to like here, it really understood the assignment.
