Fender '62 Jazz Bass in classic sunburst, CIJ 2002-04. This is a superbly classy item. The first thing you notice when you pick it up is the weight: this is the lightest J we've had for ages, weighing in around 3.7kg. The next thing is the neck: this one managed to score itself stunning piece of maple, it's got some incredible flame all the way from the body to the headstock; it's seriously stunning. Being a high-end model, you also get an alder body, US pickups and a vintage correct spiral-saddle bridge; it's all class, all the time. It's also just had a full fret-dress and is in super clean condition... geez, what else can you ask for! All that adds up to a whole lot of goodness in the hands: it's playing brilliantly, and it sound amazing. If you're after a working bass that'll deliver night-after-night, no matter the context, this guy has the resume and the personality to do it with ease. Sweet!
