Fender MIJ Hybrid 60s Strat, burgundy mist metallic, 2019. The Hybrid series sought to combine Japanese precision, vintage designs and styling and modern playability. It definitely feels good: the satin finish, modern-C shape neck feels great in the hands especially. The two-point tremolo is super stable too, it's a reassuring guitar in the hands. The tone is firmly in the vintage-Strat genre: bright and bold, plenty of slice on the top end, heaps of attack and definition, warm and open. Now, did I pay a bit of a premium for this absolutely delightful almost-lavender limited run finish? Yes I did, and don't regret it. Are you about to do the same thing? I hope so, that'd make my day.
