Fender Mustang Bass, crafted in Japan 1997-00, fiesta red. Mustang basses are a winner on every level: they look awesome, they're effortless to play, and they sound killer. The 30"short scale is an absolute breeze on the fingers, everything feels within easy reach and it's just so fun to riff around on. The slinkier scale also means a thumpy, round tone that's got a lot of charm and slots perfectly into punk, soul and any number of other vintage-vibe genres. These weren;t cheap in their day, so you get the good stuff: a US bridge plate, Duncan Designed pickups and an alder body. This is really has a lot of charm, but it packs a whole lot of attitude under the hood!
Model: Fender 'Vintage Collection' Mustang Bass (MG98-70SD)
Made: 1997-00, Japan (serial O093172)
Finish: fiesta red (FRD), black guard
Body: alder
Neck: maple with rosewood board, 30" scale
Mods: pickguard either non-original or wrapped in black
Pickups: Duncan Designed MB1
Case: very basic gig bag
Cosmetic condition notes: negligible finish wear. The biggest ding is 1mm across just near the string ferrules on the back. There may be a couple more minuscule marks around the body, but really it's just about mint. Overall: excellent condition (9.5/10).
Playing condition notes: Action is low, intonation is good, neck is straight, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets have some minor wear, but really not much, 8/10. Super fun!
