Fender '62 P, made in Japan 1991, factory matte black. You see a fair few gloss black '62 P models going around, but matte black is another beast entirely. This was factory finished in the mean sleek matte finish, which ages a bit quicker than a regular gloss, so with a few years on the clock it's got that awesome well-played look about it. It's super light, which is nice for long sets, but also lends the body a certain resonance and tonal punch. There's the traditional P-punch on board, but with an enhanced thickness through the low end and a very definite attack. This, friends, is a super cool bass.
