Fender '57 Reissue Strat, MIJ 1993/4, black, modded. This is one of top-end models from Fender Japan's 1993/4 catalog, there's not many models higher than the ST57-95LS. Originally, this had a set of Lace Sensors and a mid boost, but that's been disengaged and the pickups have been replaced with Texas Specials. The electronics have had a full once-over upgrade, so the tone out of the pickups is really maximised and the noise minimised. You get classic SRV-tones on tap: big, thick, scooped, bright, tasty. It's perfect Strat goodness at it's classic best. There's a few marks and one proper ding, but it's in pretty good shape. This is a super sweet Strat that's been thoroughly played in; it's excellent!
Model: Fender Stratocaster, '57 Reissue (ST57-95LS)
Made: Japan, 1993/4 (serial P012096)
Finish: black gloss, 1-ply aftermarket white pearl guard
Body: alder
Neck: maple, maple board
Mods: original Lace Sensors replaced, mid-boost disengaged, electronics upgrades inc. CTS pots, Switchcraft jack, USA wire and capacitor, Fender USA pickguard
Pickups: Fender USA Texas Specials
Case: none
Cosmetic condition notes: moderate finish wear. There's a big chip on the top in the body-concave area, approx 15mm x 50mm. It's in a pretty discreet spot and has been blacked out, so it's no big deal. There's a couple of dings behind the bridge and a few other minor scratches around the body, most notably in the 'buckle rash' area. Back plate is missing. The chrome has some significant discolouration but everything works okay. Overall: good condition (7/10).
Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. Electronics tested and all working properly, note the mid-boost is disengaged. Frets have some wear inc. some minor pitting, they're not in need of an immediate dress but getting there; there's enough height to get 1-2 dresses in before a re-fret; 5/10. Playing super well!
