Fender '72 reissue Strat, MIJ 1993/4, relic sunburst. This looks cool! The neck pocket is stamped with 'order', so it's likely this is a non-catalog model. That would explain the sunburst over sen ash body, an unusual combo in that era; it looks awesome! This has had a tasteful relic job applied, so it's got a cool vintage look to it. The aged board and big headstock are especially cool. Tone-wise, this is great. The pickups have flat pole pieces, so they're not the standard single coils, although the exact model is a little mysterious. They sound great though! Thick, warm, spanky with a full midrange... it's very satisfying. The slim neck and maple board combo on these 70s style models is awesome, it's so comfy and satisfying in the hands. This is ace!
Model: Fender Stratocaster, '72 reissue (ST72)
Made: Japan, 1993/4 (serial N002925)
Finish: 3-tone sunburst (3TS), 3-ply white guard
Body: sen ash
Neck: maple with maple board, dot inlays
Mods: finish relic applied
Pickups: Fender Japan ST Single
Cosmetic condition notes: mild finish wear. Note that most of the wear on this is deliberately applied, including the rub wear on the shoulder, bottom, horns and back, as well as the board wear. Aside from the deliberate stuff, there's a few dings here and there; nothing noticeable. Back plate is missing. Overall: very good condition (8/10)
Playing condition notes: Action is very low, neck is straight, intonation is good. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets are just back from a full luthier fret-dress, so they're in great shape and perfectly even with plenty of height left, 9/10. It's in great shape!
