Fender Telecaster '62 Reissue Bound Mahogany Limited Edition 2010-11
Fender limited edition '62 Reissue Bound Mahogany Telecaster, natural gloss, made in Japan 2010-11. This is a very rare bird indeed! This was a non-catalog limited edition, it's not clear exactly how many were made, but we've never seen another one for sale anywhere, ever. First up, you get a solid unchambered mahogany body; it's on full display under the high gloss natural finish. You can tell by the tight and complex grain that's it's the good stuff too. You also get a great standard-T bridge pickup and an unusual P-90 style neck pickup. The neck pickup and mahogany body lend this guitar a thick, balanced, harmonically rich tone; it's seriously incredibly tasty. Flick to the bridge pickup and you get that instantly recognisable 'Tele twang', but with a little extra sauce from the body. The '62 style slim neck is instantly comfortable and features a tasty slab-style rosewood board. This will turn heads every time it emerges from the (awesome tweed) case, and it really does have the sonic prowess to back up it's gorgeous looks. What a guitar!
