Fernandes JG-40, silver, made in Taiwan circa 2000. Fernandes have enjoyed longstanding success and respect on the local Japanese market; they're brought a lot of cool innovations and great models out over the years. These JG series models popped up for a few years in the late 90s, and they're very fun little guitars. The recipe: the classic offset shape, paired with a sensible, smooth and sturdy two point Strat trem, a 25.5" scale neck with a shreddable 13.75" radius and easy-access neck joint and a pair of humbuckers... yep, that'll work! It's got a tasty even crunch to it with a nice mix of snap on the top end and a boisterous bottom to round it out. It's a great rock rhythm guitar, it's a nice halfway between hi-fi and grungy tones. The silver finish looks all the better for a couple of decades on the clock, it's got a slight golden tinge to it and will surely look cool on stage. Very handy indeed.
