(SOLD) Fernandes JG-55S Surf Green 2001
Fernandes JG-55S, surf green, made in Taiwan circa 2001. Fernandes are one of the biggest players in Japan's domestic guitar market, they've done so well for so long and produced a heap of excellent guitars. The JG series dates to 1995-05 and pairs the evercool offset shape with some modern sensibilities: a comfy quick neck with a fairly flat radius, a modern two-point tremolo and in this case, a fun Sustainer pickup. The Sustainer is active and runs on a 9v battery, switchable via a mini-toggle. You can drag out nasty bends into endless feedback, it's a whole lot of fun. The regular tone is great too: breathy and rich through the mids with an immediate punchy attack. The wild surf green finish looks great, especially with the matching headstock... so cool. Very fun!
