Gibson Firebird V Vintage Sunburst 1990
Gibson Firebird V, vintage sunburst, made in USA 1992. The Firebird launched in 1963 and was designed in collaboration with automotive industry heavyweight Ray Dietrich. It's got some lovely lines: the reverse headstock, trap inlays, beveled body and offset body make for a super slick look. These 90s-era examples are handmade to the original recipe, and that 9-ply neck-through build is really quite something. This example is pretty lightweight and balances very nicely; it feels great in the hands. The mini humbuckers offer a snappy, bright and slightly square take on the Gibson growl. It's a sound you can't really get from and SG or LP, but it certainly has a certain appeal to it. This is in great shape with the original case, and given you can't really buy a new example currently, it's surely a cool score.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has dimples on the end and bottom edge and some scuffs on the back near the serial and front around the posts. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, minor scuffs on the back only. The back has dimples in the elbow area and bottom horn, as well as widespread minor scuffs around the whole body. The sides have dimples on the top horn, some 'stand burn' bald patches and scuffs on the bottom edge and some scuffs on the bottom horn. The front has scuffs near the rear strap pin, jack and elbow area, dimples around the knobs and play wear on the guard and horns.
Overall: very good condition (8/10)
Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Wearing fresh 11/49 Moonshiners strings.
Fret life: 8/10, minor wear only
