Gibson Les Paul Standard, honeyburst, made in USA 2000. That honey finish is so... sweet. The LP Standard is right up there with the most iconic guitars ever made, and this is a fitting little slice of that legacy. Gibson stuff from this era was built with a lot of care and attention, and you can feel the love that went into it when you hold it. The neck is a moderately slim profile and features some very pretty mahogany with a tight, dark grain pattern. The back is similarly pretty, the mahogany is obviously some pretty premium stuff. I'm a fan of a good plain maple top, and this one has some understated classy lines that bring out the nuance of the honeyburst perfectly. Plugged in, there's no shortage of beef. The neck pickup is thick and full with a generous low end and a punchy attack. The bridge pickup has plenty of output and loves getting your amp all worked up to a creamy, smooth overdrive. This is in great shape for guitar that's a couple of decades old and will surely reward one blessed player with hundred more hours of thick, juicy good times.
