Gibson Les Paul Studio Double Cut, black, made in USA 1997. You don't see these around much; they were only made for a year or two. it shares some DNA with the regular Les Paul Studio: chambered mahogany body, maple top, no binding, dots inlays, 498R/T pickups. It also gets some fun unusual stuff: wraparound bridge, 24 jumbo frets, simplified electronics... and, as you might've noticed, two cutaways. It's awesome in the hands: lightweight and very lively under the fingers, great upper fret access, moderate rounded '59 style neck... it just feels right. The pickups have plenty of grunt; into a dirty amp, this absolutely wails. It still cleans up nicely, the middle position especially has a certain airiness and sparkle to it. The black finish has rubbed to a matte look in several places; it's got plenty of miles on the clock but looks all the better for it. This just oozes rock and roll attitude; it's such a cool little guitar. LPDC FTW!

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. Headstock has a few scuffs on the front and back, plus a few little marks on the end and near the high E tuner. The neck has significant rub wear and a couple of dimples, but it's super slick and smooth in the hands. The back has a lot of scuffs running up the middle of the body, a bit of rash on the back edge and a few dimples around the body. The sides have a few things to note: scuffs on both horns, dimples and marks all the way around from the elbow area around past the jack. The front has no major marks, just some circular marks around the switch and widespread scuffs and dimples around the whole body and play wear above and below the strings. Overall: good condition (7/10).
Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. Frets have some normal wear, nothing too nasty and heaps of height left; 7/10 for fret life left. No headstock breaks! Setup with fresh 10/52 Moonshiners strings.
