Gibson LP Studio, Gem Series 'Ruby' model, made in USA 1996. Well... this is awesome! The Gem Series were only made in 96/97, and came in sapphire and emerald variations alongside this ruby finish. All models were basically LP Studios with P90s; a rare combo that's seldom popped up since these were discontinued. The finish looks awesome, you can really see the vertical grain of the maple top running up and down the body under the vibrant red finish. The red/cream/gold combo is super classy. The P90s doll out that creamy, thick, saucy tone that you can't get from a regular HB or single coil, it's very satisfying and instantly conducive to belting out your favourite stadium-rock tunes. The neck is a moderate 50s profile, it's comfy and intuitive, and the guitar is pretty light for an LP, so it's an easy on to settle in and play on. There's something very right about this one, it's got so much attitude!

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. There's a few chips around the edge of the top, some near the strap pin and one near the input jack. There's some minor dents and a scratch or two behind the bridge, some scratches on the back near the rear strap pin, and a little bit of buckle rash. Nothing dramatic. Overall: good condition (7.5/10)

Playing condition notes: Neck is straight, action is low, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets have a little wear, but there's heaps of life in them and they're pretty even, 7/10. No headstock breaks. What a beast!
