Gibson SG Junior, cherry red, made in USA 1999. How cool, right? The SG Junior debuted in 1961, originally titled 'Les Paul' before adopting the SG moniker in 1963. This one references the 1966 version. with the 'batwing' guard, regular single P-90 and a wraparound bridge. It's super lightweight at 2.8kg, with a comfy tapered neck with easy access all the way up to the top. The tone is pure punk rock: heaps of attack, growly mids, punchy lows and that open, chiming scream on the top you only really get with P90s. You can dial some tasty blues tones too, rolling the tone back a whisker yields some tasty gooey vocal-esque warble. The cherry finish looks classic, and the rosewood board has some gorgeous streaky grain on the bass side edge... yum. This rules, and it's been a very long time since we had one on the wall. SGJR= super gigantic jelly riffmachine.

The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, minor dimples and some rub wear on the back only. The back has some scuffs around the front strap pin, rub wear on the top horn, a little parch of dents in the elbow area, scuffs along the back and top edges and on the bottom horn and a dimple in the middle of the body. The sides have light scuffs on both horns and some dimples on the elbow area and near the jack, The front has some scuffs around the bridge, dimples in the elbow area and near the knobs and some play wear on the guard and horns. Overall: very good condition (7.5/10).

Playing condition notes: Neck is straight, action is low, intonation is good. The frets have some normal wear but are pretty even with no major buzz issues, 7/10 for life left. Setup with fresh 10/52 strings Moonshiners strings.
