Gibson SG Standard Ebony 2005
Gibson SG Standard, black, made in USA 2005. I love a black SG, they always look awesome. This one has seen some stuff: there's a bunch of rub wear, scuffs, checking and dimples, but it feels fantastic in the hands. It's well balanced, lightweight and naturally resonant, and the fat D shaped neck feels great in the hands. The pickups have been swapped for a set of Duncan Phat Cats, which are a humbucker-sized P-90 style single coil. The sound is awesome: fat and punchy on the neck with a lovely gooey smoothness, and kick aplenty with a wailing top end on the bridge. It's hard to imagine a more no-nonsense arse kicking machine than a black SG with plenty of miles on it.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has minor scuffs on the end and edges, scuffs on the back around the tuners and some rub wear and scuffs and minor chips in the clearcoat in the corners on the front. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, minor dimples and scuffs on the back only. The back has minor surface scratches around the cavity cover and back edge as well as widespread minor scuffs around the whole body. The sides have minor dimples on the top horn, dimples, dents and scuffs in the elbow area and back edge, a couple of chips and some dimples and scuffs near the jack, as well as a bald patch, some checking and scuffs on the bottom horn. The front has minor dimples and scuffs around the whole body as well as play wear on the guard and horns.
Overall: good condition (7/10)
Playing condition notes: action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Wearing fresh 10/52 Moonshiners strings.
Fret Life: 7/10, normal wear including minor pitting, but playing smoothly with no major issues
