Greco 'Mint Collection' EGC68-60 LP Custom style, made in Japan 1988-90, ebony finish. This is a stunning take on the 1968 'Black Beauty' Les Paul Custom, made out of the Tokai factory in Japan. The Mint Collection series are very highly regarded for both historical accuracy and superb build quality; they're probably the most 'collectable' line of Greco LPs. This one has had the pickup covers removed and the bridge and tailpiece curiously swapped for chrome pieces, but seems to be otherwise all original. It's pretty heavy, but with all that unchambered mahogany lends the guitar an enormous tone. You get thick, sticky bass, crispy, define highs and a midrange with an amazing mix of cream and clarity; it really does sound absolutely superb. The low-output humbuckers are equally comfortable cleaned up or highly driven, and the two of them balance perfectly in middle position. The sleek black finish and very-yellowed binding looks awesome after a few years of play; this has a perfect rock-and-roll look. If you're after a LP with a tonne of tone, this will surely bring the beef!

Model: Greco 'Mint Collection' EGC68-60
Made: Japan, 1989 (no serial, date based on specs and catalog, may be 88 or 90)
Finish: gloss black, cream binding
Neck: mahogany, ebonite board, slim 60s style profile

Mods: bridge and tailpiece changed for chrome pieces, pickup covers removed
Pickups: original Greco 'Screamin' PAF-style humbuckers

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. There's some play scratches on the guard and a few minor scratches between the tailpiece and the edge of the body and a very minor dent in the binding near the knobs. The back has some extremely light buckle rash, a couple of minor dents, and the start of some checking lines, although they're a while off developing into being easily visible. Hardware and plastics have some discolouration, but all work fine. Overall: very good condition (8.5/10)

Playing condition notes: Neck is straight, action is low, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets have some normal wear, 7/10 for life left. Wearing fresh 11/49s.
