Greco SE380, sunburst, made in Japan 1980. In 1982, the Fujigen Gakki factory in Japan produced the first ever Fender guitars made outside USA: the famed 'JV serial' instruments, renowned for their exceptional build and finish quality and lively, vintage-correct tone. Two years earlier, that same factory was producing guitars for Greco, and guess what? They are very good. This is modelled on a 50s style Strat, so it's got a soft-V neck shape with a maple board, an ash body and a simple three-way switch. It's got heaps of spank and cut: it's a bright, snappy take on the classic Strat-spank and certainly fits in tonally amongst the late 70s Strats nicely. The ash grain on show under the gaudy burst finish is awesome, it's got a certain showiness that complements the classic lines nicely. You get heaps of Strat for laughably little cash here, so if you've got a Strat-shaped hole in your heart or you're looking for a perfect modding platform, this will surely perform admirably.

The sides have minor dimples the whole way around the body, no major marks though. The front has some scuffs around the edge of the body, some dimples near the jack, in the elbow area and on the top horn as well as some standard play wear on the guard and horn. Overall: good condition (7/10)
Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets have been freshly dressed and polished, so they're nice and even with no buzz issues, but they're pretty low in height, 6/10 for fret life left. Wearing fresh 10/46 Moonshiners strings.
