Greco TB70 Thunderbird style bass, made in Japan 1987, black. This one is just plain mean. Greco are responsible for some of the most iconic Gibson-style instruments ever made in Japan, and these late 80s T-bird style basses are always a lot of fun. On arrival this on had a couple of weird glue marks (or something!) on the finish on the body, so we had our local finishes expert do a patch-up and partial refinish job. The aim was to get it looking consistent and original but still keep some of the genuine play wear intact, and it's come up looking and feeling great. The neck is straight and comfy, somewhere between a P and J in profile and intuitive in the hands. The tone on deck is thick: heaps of low end punch with a throaty midrange that loves a bit of dirt. If you're after a bass for doomy or grunge stuff, this will add heaps of oomph and weight to your mix. Enjoyably filthy.
