Greco TBR75 T-Bird-Style Bass Black 1990

Greco TBR75 Thunderbird style bass, made in Japan 1990, black. This is such a mean bass. Greco have made some excellent Gibson style instruments over the decades, and while you see a fair few LPs around, these Thunderbird style basses were made for a far shorter period and are pretty scarce. It's a beautiful build: the fretwork and finish are applied perfectly, the hardware is solid and it's well balanced in the hands. The neck is slim and quick and feels great; it's all very reassuring in the hands, which isn't always the case with legit Gibson gear. The guard and truss cover have been removed, which is kinda fun in a way; it adds a certain extra layer of devil-may-care strut to the equation. The black hardware on black finish combo is killer; this is surely begging to be let loose on stage to terrorise the neighbourhood. The tone is full of growl; there's a meaty rich midrange and a full, rumbling low end that'll fill that spot in the mix just right. Tattoos not included, sorry!

The sides have a few marks: dimples on the top horn, little chips and dimples on the shoulder and near the rear strap pin, some scuffs and marks around from the jack and some scuffs on the bottom horn. Front is pretty tidy, just some extra holes and scuffs where the guard was once, checkmarks near the jack, dimples and scuffs on the shoulder and top horn and some light play wear above and below the strings. Overall: good condition (7/10)
