Hashimoto Gut Guitar No. 234, made in Japan 1967, natural gloss finish. Kazuo Hashimoto was a luthier based in the Nagano region of Japan, producing classical guitars under his own brand name from the 1950s to the early 70s. This was made entirely by hand with a lot of love and care. The neck is comfy and full in the hands, with great fretwork and some lovely grain showing on the back. The body is lightweight and enthusiastically resonant, every little note and nuance comes out with gusto and clarity. There's a pronounced natural low end and a crisp sweetness on the top end, lending notes and chords an eloquent and expressive voice. This is a great example of a vintage Japanese classical, it'll surely bring some warmth and character to your house.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has some minor scuffs on the end and dimples on the back. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, minor dimples on the back only. The back has widespread surface scratches and light scuffs, no major marks, the most notable scuff is on the top shoulder. The sides have no major marks, but there's minor dimples around the whole body. The front has some dimples behind the bridge, on the bottom edge and in the elbow area and some standard play wear on the shoulders. Overall: very good condition (8/10).

Playing condition notes: action is moderately, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. The frets look great, 8/10 for fret life left. Wearing fresh Rotosound high tension strings.
