Ibanez RG570 Black 1998
Ibanez RG570, black, made in Japan 1998. The RG is a classic guitar genre in it's own right, and this is a very good example of that fine lineage. The RG570 was made in this form from 1997-02, before being replaced by the basically-identical RG1570 when the Prestige line launched in 2003. Those familiar with Fujigen-made RGs will know what I mean when I say this: the neck is truly excellent. It's flat, fast, straight and stable and feels amazing, even if you're not used to the built-for-speed shape. Our friendly house tech Mark took the Edge Tremolo bridge to bits and gave everything a proper clean, so that's now operating with reassuring smoothness and holds tune brilliantly. The pickups deliver that smooth, balanced sound Ibanez are known for, which works brilliantly with heavy distortion but cleans up remarkably well too. If you're after a tried-and-tested 90s era shredstick, this is a perfect candidate: understated look, unmatched feel.
