Ibanez RS530 Roadstar II Black 1984
Ibanez Roadstar II RS530, black, made in Japan 1984. Ibanez was a couple of decades deep by the early 80s, and the iunstruments were made at the excellent Fujigen Gakki factory, which was also producing Fender Japan's JV serial instruments at the time. This one counts as a Superstrat, although there's something a bit Ric-ish about the top horn. The red pinstriping around the body looks super slick, and paired with the black hardware, it's a cool look. The neck and headstock have been refinished, but it feels slick in the hands and all works well, although the decal is a little wobbly up close. It's an agreeable medium C shape shape with twenty four frets, and it plays slick and quick all the way up the neck. This is heaps of shredstick for a few bucks, get around it and polish up your thrash game.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has dimples on the end and scuffs and marks all over; the paint job has some imperfections. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, minor scuffs and dimples on the back only. The back has dents and scuffs in the elbow area and top horn, as well as scuffs around the trem cavity and back edge. The sides have minor dimples around the whole body. The front has a dimple up from the pickups, scuffs around the bridge and knobs and some play wear on the horns.
Overall: good condition (7/10)
Playing condition notes: action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Wearing fresh 9/42 Moonshiners strings.
Fret Life: 7/10, minor wear only
