The Soundtank series launched in 1992 as a way of delivering great sounding effects at a pretty manageable price. This pedal is different from a Tubescreamer: the series had one of those too, but this is a totally different circuit. You get the silicon diodes hard clipping the signal before it hits the tone driver, so it's brighter and with more bottom end than a TS style drive. It almost has that Dumble-ish genre thing going on, with chewy mids and fat sustain, it's a cool little drive. Driven by the snazzy JRC4558 chip under the hood.
