Fender Japan '72 Reissue Stratocaster ST72-58US Black 2004
Fender '72 Strat, black on black, crafted in Japan 2004-5. There's been more than a couple of famous appreciators of the black Stratocaster, not without reason. This one has the Gilmour-esque white pickup covers against the black guard; a tasty little nod. The slim neck is a fast friend; it's a very easy guitar to play and feels very natural in the hands. Tone-wise, the USA-made pickups deliver a snappy, bright take on the classic Strat-spank. There's a nice openness to the treble balanced by a controlled, balanced low end and quick attack. If you're after a practical everyday gig-machine that'll bring the goods for the sweaty rock shows and the slick wedding gigs, this is certainly a handy little tool to have in your belt.
