LTD Kirk Hammett KH-602 Black 2020
LTD Kirk Hammett KH-602, black, made in Korea 2020. Kirk is in charge of the shredding department around at the world's biggest heavy band, thrash kings Metallica. There's a couple of versions of his signature riffstick, and this is the fancier, neck-through version under the LTD banner before you hit the $8k-ish ESP branded job. It's got a good resume: smooth upper access and excellent sustain owing to the build, 1000-series Floyd Rose tremolo bridge, Kirk's signature ESP active pickups, big tall frets and a snazzy case to match. The tone delivers exactly what you'd expect: hammering lows, syrupy mids and a wailing highs, with enough output to make even the cleanest amps blush. The little skull inlays are a cute touch on an other sleek and fairly minimalist look: time to let the riffs do the talking. Don't be a Jerk Dammit, buy yourself a Kirk Hammett.
