Martin 000-M, made in USA 2002. The Martin 000 is acoustic guitar royalty; it hasn't changed a lot since the 1930s becasue... it doesn't need to. This model was a 'Road Series' in it's day; although the specs are more deluxe on these older models. You get a solid spruce top in a charming natural satin finish, a rosewood board and bridge, a bone nut and comfy, a slim one piece mahogany neck... nice stuff. This one took a knock in transit to Topshelf HQ, so we sent it to our local master luthier who's done an exceptional job on the repair, see the notes in the condition section below. The balanced, warm, articulate tone is a real delight. It's deceptively loud too; the lightweight bracing really allows the wood to move when you play, so you can really work the dynamics of your playing. The primary appeal of this shape for many people is the ease of play; this is certainly a cooperative and satisfying guitar to have in your hands. The no-nonsense satin finish and simple, clean look will win a lot of admirers too. The Fishman pickup is a handy addition; it translates the acoustic tone convincingly. This is a lovely acoustic; it'd be a welcome companion in your loungeroom or a great little gig machine with a pickup attached.

Cosmetic condition notes: mild finish wear. As noted, following a transit knock this has had a neck repair by our favourite local pro luthier. The work is exceptional, there's no bumps to feel in the hand and it's very cosmetically tidy and structurally sound; have a look at the extra pics. He re-glued the body joint at the same time to ensure it's all in great shape. The headstock has a couple of dings on the corners, and the back of the neck has a couple of minor marks, nothing you can feel really. The back is pretty tidy, just some very light scuffs around the place visible on particular angles. The sides have some light scuffs and there's a few nicks in the binding, mostly in the shoulder area and directly opposite that on the bottom. The top has a handful of nicks behind the bridge, some glossing from contact and some minor scratches from play on the guard and above the soundhole. Overall: good condition (7/10)
Playing condition notes: action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good. Frets are in great shape with minor wear only, 8/10 for fret life left. Setup with 12/53 Moonshiners strings.
