(ARCHIVE) Martinez 41 Series Folk Size Cutaway Acoustic/Electric Guitar Rainbow Burst
- Description
- Guitarchives
Well, look what the mountain cat dragged in. Martinez are a Chinese guitar manufacturer with high standards for their work. They have a swathe of budget offerings all made at their base of operations in Guangzhou like the higher end models. This one is one of the entry level offerings. It sounds fairly typical of a folk size acoustic – jangly crunchy mids and crispy tops with a reduced low end projection. It's not half bad! It even comes with a pickup, built-in chromatic tuner and preamp with volume, fixed 3-band EQ, phase and presence to adjust. The original Martinez gig bag is included as well as the generic 'Peace' strap. Essentials like a proper bridge and working truss rod mean you can avoid the frustration that comes with cheap acoustics. If you can manage coordinating your outfit around the finish, you've got yourself a decent travel or starter guitar.
Story-time: The gentleman that sold this to us claims to have been a 'hippy' in the 60s and went on to tell us that they "... had rainbows before there even were gay people" ... Make of that what you will.
