Maton EM325C dreadnought cutaway electric acoustic in natural nitro. There was a while in the 2000s where near every pub in Australia had a soloist sporting one of these, partly because they sound exactly like you expect them to, but largely because of their reliability and the plugged in sound. You get Maton's AP5 pickup system which does a fantastic job of translating what you hear into a signal, meaning the audience hear exactly what you hear. This one belonged to a pro player in Hobart (bet you can't guess his name), and has done its fair share of paying gigs around town. So much, in fact, that it received a refinish recently to tidy it up for even more. Think of it as a real "relic" finish. The neck's a fairly moderate D shape and the fretboard rolls off nicely, making for a comfy player that still feels like there's enough neck to grab when digging in. The tone is exactly what you'd expect, balanced and percussive. The lows are thumpy, but aren't overbearing, the mid-range is rich and the highs are smooth and brought into balance. In essence, it sounds as though it's already had the compression and EQ every FOH engineer adds to an acoustic, but acoustically and pumped straight into your watering hole of choice's problematic house PA. Convenient right? Anyway, here's Wonderwall.

Cosmetic condition notes: widespread scuffs and dings; the refinish is very thin nitro so you can feel the wear underneath. Most notable wear is around the sound-hole, pickguard and top horn, where it's a bit deeper. There are spots of deeper wear on the headstock, front and back, in the logo area. The finish has worn down around the edge of the elbow area and there's notable play wear above the sound-hole. If you somehow missed it, there's the giant faded "DAN" in the bottom corner. There are scattered scuffs, scratches and dings on the back and sides. The neck is mostly smooth with a number of dings, getting noticeably denser past the 8th fret, on the bottom-side.
Overall: good condition (7/10)
Playing condition notes:
Action is moderately low, neck is straight, intonation is good. Setup with 12/54 Moonshiners strings. No bridge or heel lift.
Fret Life: Originally jumbo frets, worn down to about 80%, but level and smooth. Plenty of life left. 8/10.
