Maton SRS70C, natural satin, made in Melbourne 2021. Like Lleyton Hewitt, The Big Banana and backroom senate vote preference distribution deals, the Maton dreadnought, with a pickup and a cutaway, is an Australian icon. It's for a good reason: it's a pragmatic beauty. The combination of sitka spruce and Vic blackwood makers for a detailed, sparkling clarity with plenty of midrange punch, which sits nicely in a band mix or adds a tasty percussive backbone to a solo performance thanks to the excellent pickup system. The satin finish lets the wood breathe and means this will naturally age with play... with plenty of play, in a few years this will look and sound even better. Includes a tab for John Farnham's 'You're The Voice' in lieu of an owner's manual.
