Here we have a proper vintage D&S II, complete with box and papers and in great shape. It's too old to have a 9v input or even an LED, but hey, you'll know it's on because you'll sound better. The D&S II runs on a pair of op-amps with germanium clipping diodes, so it sounds similar to the classic 808, but with more low end heft and gain range. It's perfect for punchy, warm blues leads or choppy rhythm parts. Compared to a modern example, this one has a certain added harmonic complexity and roundness; it's a little thicker and juicier sounding. It's the secret sauce your tune needs!
