Orville Les Paul Standard, honeyburst, made in Japan 1996. Orville, Mr Gibson's first name, was Gibson's house-owned, licensed offshoot making classic Gibson models in Japan for their domestic market. This one dates to 1996, not too long before the show wrapped up in 1998, and was made at the always-excellent Terada factory. The woodwork and finishing is awesome, the attention to detail is spot-on. The honeyburst finish looks gorgeous too, it's a lovely warm hue with some subtle grain lines adding a pop of detail. The neck is a moderate shape, carved to a medium-C that could be described as '59 style. The pickups deliver a warm, gooey growl, with plenty of midrange kick and natural sustain. This is a great Les Paul, it's really quite charming.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has two chips on the end, a dent on the bass side near the E tuner and minor scuffs on the front. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, minor scuffs on the back and fading on the binding only. The back has dimples near the neck join, around the control cavity and in the elbow area, as well as two small chips on the back edge and widespread light scuffs. The sides have minor scuffs around the whole body and a decent chip between the jack and the rear strap pin. The front has dimples near the knobs, scuffs in the elbow area and back edge and some play wear on the guard and horns.
Overall: very good condition (7.5/10)

Playing condition notes: action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Wearing fresh 10/52 Moonshiners strings.
Fret Life: 8/10, minor wear only
