This item is non-functional, sold as-is and intended as a project.

Known issues: Truss rod is broken, neck is bent.

The skinny: I was stoked to score this bass out of Japan, only for the truss rod to break during a routine adjustment on arrival. We had our local luthier attempt to repair the neck by installing a new truss rod, but the repair failed. He installed a new truss rod with more torque than a standard vintage-style rod that adjusted at the heel end and replaced the binding, but the new truss rod snapped too when trying to get the neck adjusted back into shape. The upshot is the neck has a nasty bow in it and most likely isn't easily repairable, but with a new neck, this would be an excellent bass. If it was fully functional and in good order, this instrument would normally list for around $1595A.
