** PROJECT ** Fender Japan PB57-55 Black 1984
This item is non-functional, sold as-is and intended as a project.
Known issues: body is non-genuine, neck may require fret level and dress
The skinny: This arrived from Japan and was sounding and playing okay, but it had a bit of fret buzz and the string path looked a bit off. We sent it to a local luthier intending to get what appeared to a non-original bridge replaced and installed in the correct position to alleviate the string path issue, and once that was sorted assess the neck to see if it needed fret work. The luthier noted the belly carve and horn shapes were a bit 'off' and that it was likely a non-genuine body. The guard is non-original, the electronics appear to be non-original, but it's all functional. There's a nice Gotoh high mass bridge included. So hey, there's a cool collection of gear here that with a bit of love should yield a fun bass.
