Paul Reed Smith SE Paul Allender Purple 2008
PRS SE Paul Allender, made in Korea 2008, Allender Burst finish. Paul slings doom for the very sensible folks around at Cradle of Filth, one of metal's most enduring and recognisable acts. This is the earlier version of his signature guitar, with a flat top blessed with some quilted maple and a mean purple burst finish. It plays smoothly, with an agreeable 'Wide Thin' shaped neck and a lightweight mahogany body. The sound is suitably abrupt: plenty of low end kick and heft, creamy growl through the mids and a smooth top end. Personally I feel this is worth it for the gnarly bat inlays alone really.
