Reuss Musical Instruments RSH-03 These Immortal Souls Edition Distortion/Fuzz Pedal

Rowland S Howard was called "Australia's most unique, gifted and uncompromising guitarist" by his The Birthday Party bandmate Nick Cave. He had a signature pedal setup: a pair of 70s era MXR offerings; a Distortion+ and a Blue Box octave fuzz. This pedal pays homage to RSH, combining those two circuits in one handy box. It's handmade in Denmark with NOS parts, including germanium resistors the the UA741CP op-amp, as used in the original 70s pedals. The left side dirt is great: like a thicker, more complex DS-1. The right side gets pretty unhinged: with the blend at 0, it's a wall-of-sound fuzz, but as you wind in the blend, you get a glitchy, monophonic two-octaves-down synth bass sound that really rattles the skulls. It's a lot of fun, especially with both sides going. This edition was painted black and limited to sixty pieces to commemorate the anniversary of the first These Immortal Souls album in 1987.
