Richmond by Godin Belmont Black Wash 2009
Richmond Belmont, black wash finish, made in Canada 2009. The Richmond brand falls under the Godin banner; as per all their stuff this is beautifully put together. The styling kinda falls halfway between an SG and something like a Danelectro; it's a cool look. The hefty mahogany body adds a whole bunch of natural warmth and body to the tone. The lipstick pickups are chiming and bright, the body balances the natural snap nicely. The bridge humbucker adds a whole bunch of heft to the party; you can go from pretty jangly leads to howling and growling with the flick of a switch. The neck is a comfy modern C, made from great quality mahogany with a slick satin finish; it's an easy player. If you want a 'do it all' electric with a quirky vibe about it, this one is surely a good contender.
