Rickenbacker 360, white, made in USA 1982. When I saw this, I had to buy it... heck, just look at it, right? Rickenbacker's 360 differs from the more common 330 in it's rounded body shape, with binding only on the back edge of the top, as well as the bound fretboard and sharktooth inlays. They're simple touches, but oh boy, they really top off the aesthetic perfectly. It's tricky to get a 360, used or new, in Australia on any given day, but getting one is a well-played aged white like this is a rare treat indeed. The unusual finish has yellowed significantly around the whole guitar to a gorgeous custard hue, complete with extensive checking lines. It looks good in the photos, but up close in person, it's very hard to resist it's many charms. The headstock copped a little knock at some point, so we had our pro luthier do a minor glue job to stabilise and repair the crack, which is visible in the back-of-headstock photo. We also arranged a re-wind on the bridge pickup, as the output on it was low, so that's been rectified and the pickups balance nicely now. Plugged in, there's a lot to love: there's a certain sparkly jangle to this that will be instantly identifiable to Ric fans. The neck pickup is dark and warm with plenty of attack and punch, while the bridge pickup is airy and bright with a creamy singing midrange... the magic is in the middle position with both pickups cranked. The neck pretty slim, as many Ric necks are, but once you get used to it, it's an easy player. The Mastery bridge on deck solves some of the common slippage issues and provides great intonation and tuning stability too, so that's handy. I really love this one, so please make sure you give it the love and attention it deserves, okay?

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has some chips on the end and edges and the front near the truss rod cover, as well as checking and fading. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, there's rub wear, scuffs and dimples on the back as well as checking lines, especially on the heel. Note we had our local pro luthier repair a minor crack in the headstock join, so that's visible on the treble side of the join but it's a great repair both structurally and visually. The back has some chips in the middle and on the top edge as well as widespread scuffs and checking. The sides have dimples, checking and scuffs around the whole body, as well as a few little chips on the elbow area, near the jacks and on the bottom horn. The front has some minor chips in the elbow area, on the bottom edge near the knobs and near the tailpiece as well as widespread checking and light scuffs. Overall: good condition (7/10).

Playing condition notes: Neck is straight, intonation is good, action is low, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. The frets have minor wear only and appear to have been recently levelled, 7/10 for fret life left. Setup with fresh 10/46s Moonshiners strings.
