Ric 4003 bass, Jetglo finish, made in USA 2010. This is the bass that everyone notices first in the shop, and I'm sure it'd be the same in any room... it's got swagger in spades. The 4003 is the stereo version of the classic 4001 bass, so it's got a standard output as well as a 'bridge pickup only' output; you can run two amps if you're that kinda gal. The tone on deck is absolutely huge. Being a maple body with some hot pickups, this has a grinding, snappy top end that will surely keep all your notes right in the thick of any mix, paired with a pounding low end with an enormous hefty punch and a growly, articulate midrange. Paired with shop 1972 Bassman Ten combo, generally a very clean amp indeed, this pushes the tubes to a creamy, angry overdrive... it's such a glorious tone. These later Rics are built to a wonderful standard, so this is light in weight, well balanced, super sturdy with immaculate fret and finish work... it has that certain integrity to it that makes you feel confident when you play it. To say it looks striking is an understatement: this absolutely radiates attitude, it's as cool as they come. It's been a while since we scored one of these and they seldom last long, so if you've always wanted one, I'm confident to say this won't disappoint.
