Schecter Diamond Series Hellcat-VI Black 2011
Schecter Hellcat-VI, black, made in Korea 2011. There's a lot of enthusiasm around these days about the Bass-VI as a genre, and fair enough: they're a whole lot of fun. You see the Squier take around the place a lot, but this is a different beast. Schecter's Korean-made offerings have long been held in high regard, and this short-lived model is an unusual treat. It's tuned like a guitar but an octave down, so you cab crossover from bass lines to doomy baritone chords to chirpy melodic lines. Schecter have made the whole thing very practical: good tuners that hold tune, a fast and agreeable neck, sturdy hardtail bridge, easy switching and some super enjoyable mini humbuckers. It sounds great: snarly and warm with plenty of punch and growl. If you use the push/pull tone control to split the pickups to a single coil, the tone is closer to a Fender model, although still a hair brighter and tighter. It's a little more compact and comfy to hold and play than the Fender shape too; it's very intuitive. I really like this, it's a proper doomdelight.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has dimples on the end and bottom edge and some scuffs on the front around the posts. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, minor dimples and rub wear on the back only. The back has minor surface scratches on the bottom horn and back edge and some minor scuffs around the whole body. The sides have minor scuffs around the neck join and horns and some dimples in the elbow area and near the jack. The front has dimples in the elbow area, around the tailpiece and elbow area, a surface scratch up from the bridge and some pay wear on the guard and horns.
Overall: very good condition (7.5/10)
Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Wearing Bass VI strings.
Fret life: 8/10, minor wear only
