Schecter V-1 Apocalypse, fancy red finish, made in Korea 2021. Schecter's Diamond Series stuff has long been very good: made in Korea to a high standard, quality specs and hardware, mean looks. This one has a pretty serious resume: 12-16" compound radius, stainless steel frets, super stable 5-piece neck, ebony board, USA-made pickups... they weren't messing around. It plays very nicely too. Obviously it's geared to metal playing, but with those big tall frets and super fast neck, it really nails the brief: it's fast and comfortable. The pickups are hot and heavy, so this delivers a big fat growl with plenty of low end oomph and a punchy, wide midrange. The gothic inlays and curly red sparkle finish will look the goods on stage too. V. snazzy.
